Well, the easy part is done.
The very first draft of my new book is finished, and it stars a cyberpunk cowboy.
Also, it is a very serious and compelling work of science fiction. I enjoyed writing it, but that really was the easy part if I want to get it published.
Assuming I self publish, it’ll need a cover, loads of editing (professional and otherwise), and a title. So far I haven’t been able to think of a good title. That’s probably going to have to happen. It will also need digital formatting and all of the little blurbs and bits that go along with that. If I want to sell a significant number of copies I will likely need to advertise and spend some time contacting media outlets.
I’ll probably need to send a copy to Oprah, just in case she decides she’s into this sort of thing.
You know. Cowboys. And cyberpunk.
It seems like a lot of work, but I figure I might as well go through with it. After all, I did go through all the trouble of writing the book. Seems like it would be a shame to just bury it somewhere. Also, I’m really happy with the result so far. Yes, there really is a cyberpunk cowboy, but there’s a lot more to it than that.
Really, though, does it need anything else?
